Auto registration: Satellite Town gets facilitation centre
The Excise and Taxation Department Rawalpindi has activated a facilitation centre in Satellite Town to facilitate citizens in getting their automobile registered and other related work.
AETO Sohail Sabir has been appointed as in -charge of the centre. Ten allied circles and the Satellite Town circle have been merged with the facilitation center.
The facilitation centre will entertain registration of motorcycles and token tax from dawn to dusk.
Earlier, the Excise and Taxation Department Rawalpindi said that it registered about 1,081,422 vehicles including 833,751 motorcycles and 92,136 other automobiles in the year 2017-18.
According to the E&T spokesman, the department registered a total of 38,635 diesel vehicles including 33,602 running on CNG and about 1,009,185 vehicles running on petrol.
He further said that about 115,718 vehicles and motorcycles were registered in the financial year 2017-18 and the department collected over Rs4.377 billion in revenue including motor, professional taxes, excise fee and other duties in four districts of the Rawalpindi division.
the spokesman said that 121,003 vehicles including motorcycles, motor cars, jeeps, wagons, pickups, vans, buses, minibusses, flying coaches, rickshaws, motor cars, trucks, tractors, ambulances, water bowsers, double cabin and cranes were registered in the Rawalpindi district.
The provincial government had fixed over Rs4.185 billion revenue target for the division that included Rawalpindi, Jehlum, Chakwal and Attock districts for the outgoing financial year.
He said that overall 105 percent target was achieved during the outgoing fiscal year.
To another question, he said that special teams have been constituted to conduct raids against token tax defaulters.
“In order to facilitate the citizens, the Excise and Taxation Office Rawalpindi is making active efforts,” the spokesperson said.
He said that E&T Punjab has directed the post offices not to collect motor vehicle tax (MVT) and token tax across the province.
