The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday claimed that the July 25 general elections were totally rigged, adding not one but all political parties held protests against the rigging.
Shehbaz further said the country stability is linked with investigation into the alleged rigging in elections.
He demanded of the government to fix two or three days for meeting with Nawaz and Maryam so that PML-N workers from across the country could meet their leaders.
He termed a statement being associated with Nawaz Sharif is false and fabricated. Shehbaz made it clear that Nawaz Sharif’s any statement will be public through PML-N leader Maryam Aurangzeb and which will be considered a policy statement.
He said this after meeting with former prime minister Nawaz Sharif at Adiala jail, Rawalpindi. Former information minister Maryam Aurangzeb, PML-N senior leader Javed Hashmi and Mehmood Achakzai were also there.
Talking to media, the former chief minister said the recent general elections were totally rigged, adding the political parties and people have rejected the election results. He said despite the prevailing uncertainty and unrest in the country, Nawaz doesn’t want any chaos.
He said the recent elections witnessed pre and post polls riggings and due to these reasons, not only national media but international media also questioned the credibility of the polls.
The former chief minister further said to harass PML-N, its leaders were booked and arrested before the election and another leader was convicted at midnight, which never had happened in the past.
Former information minister Maryam Aurangzeb said that PML-N leaders were asked to wait two to three hours at the gate, despite Thursday being the meeting day with Nawaz Sharif. She further said the courage and determination of Nawaz and Maryam is increasing with each passing day.
Maryam made it clear that other PML-N leaders’ statements should not be associated with Nawaz Sharif. She said Nawaz Sharif’s health is stable and his ideology getting strength. Maryam maintained that “Respect to Vote” is not a mere slogan but an ideology.
PML-N senior leader Javed Hashmi said Nawaz Sharif’s courage is high, adding that he was in fact consoling the visitors. Hashmi also said that the nation was deceived in the name of elections.
Hashmi further said Imran Khan is an agent of establishment and in the queue of establishment his number was last.
