PBM provides treatment facilities to 1,723 thalassemia patients in five years

ISLAMABAD

Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) has spent Rs122 million on providing treatment facilities to 1,723 Thalassaemia patients across the country since 2013 till March, 2018, said an official.

Giving details of the treatment facilities to the Daily Morning Mail, he said rupees one million were spent on treating eight Balochistan patients. Likewise over 347 patients of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) were provided treatment facilities with the total cost of Rs21 million. Similarly, 478 thalassaemia patients of Khyber -Pakhtunkhwa have been provided treatment facilities by spending Rs35 million in last five years.

A sum of Rs60 million had been spent on providing treatment facilities to 882 thalassaemia patients and eight patients have been provided treatment facilities by spending Rs3.4 million.
